FUNDING

Creating the Queer Voices Festival is no small feat, it comes with a significant price tag. From securing a venue and compensating our talented artists to illuminating the stage, the costs add up. Our ticket sales only account for less than 25% of the expenses required to produce this exceptional festival. In partnership with our very own Road of Rainbows, we're proud that RoR directly funds the remaining 75%!

BTC is committed to making this event economically inclusive. If you cannot afford a ticket, please email assistant@bostontheater.org for assistance.

Performers for Queer Voices

Boston Theater Company's Queer Voices Festival is a submission-based showcase of vibrant and diverse ten-minute plays written by LGBTQ+ playwrights. A platform for LGBTQ+ voices to share their stories and perspectives, this festival plays a vital role in promoting LGBTQ+ representation in the arts and aims to celebrate the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.

Seven plays were selected via a diverse reading committee.

In adherence with our commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), we have made our festival more inclusive with:

1. Free Submissions: Eliminating submission fees. We believe all voices should be heard, regardless of financial barriers.

2. Playwright Honorarium: Valuing the contributions of playwrights. If we choose your work, you'll receive an honorarium.

3. Scaled ticket prices: Offering tickets on a scaled system, including access to free tickets for those who cannot afford them.
