In March 2017, the world premiere of Finish Line was presented by the Boch Center in association with Boston Theater Company at the Boch Center Shubert Theatre to rave reviews from local media outlets and audience members.

Directed by Joey Frangieh, Finish Line rings a local story of recovery, resilience, and determination center stage. Through a transcript created verbatim from dozens of interviews, Finish Line uses powerful firsthand accounts to show how a community came together to heal and grow stronger after a tragic act of violence. Co-created by Frangieh and Lisa Rafferty, the documentary style production features interviews from Liz Norden, mother of two sons injured in the bombings, WCVB news anchor Maria Stephanos, Massachusetts General Hospital trauma surgeon Dr. David R. King, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, 1976 Marathon winner Jack Fultz, and Boston Globe photographer John Tlumacki, among many others.

Education

Boston Theater Company's education program is grounded in approaching Shakespeare in new and innovative ways. Our program builds upon old notions of Shakespeare by exploring the unique perspective of the contemporary student. Our goal is for students to discover personal connections to Shakespeare that will spark a lasting interest in theater and classic works.

We have three initiatives within our education program: Professional Touring Productions, In-School Workshops and our Teen Touring Troupe.

A note from the Producing Artistic Director

Joey Frangieh

The BTC team consists of young Boston-based artists who are passionate about collaboration, hard work, and taking risks. We may produce three shows in one year, or it may take us three years to produce one show. We take the time to craft each project and we put every resource we have into that one show. Although our artistic programming is project-based, we work throughout the year to develop new scripts, produce our From Broadway to Boston concert series, and expand our educational outreach. I invite you to join us as a patron, as a financial supporter, and to keep up with us throughout the year on social media.
