Boston Theater Company announces auditions for HAMLET and MIDSUMMER
We are seeking a diverse group of 6 actors to play multiple roles in the touring productions of Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We will bringing these shows to middle and high schools all throughout the Greater Boston Area, and beyond!

BTC will be touring our signature production of Hamlet. Our dynamic ensemble of professional actors retells this rich story with a new twist— a handful of the roles are reversed gender. We have carefully crafted this script to showcase powerful women while maintaining the show's original themes.

We will be showcasing one of Shakespeare's classic laugh-out-loud comedies! A pared down script focuses on the lovers’ plight and mechanicals' play-within-a-play, with fairies strewn in between. Our team honors Shakespeare’s hilarious text while bringing a fresh, modern take to this beloved story.

Tuesday, November 21st, 6-9pm
Call backs will be held the following week if necessary.
All auditions will be held in Studio 204 of the Boston Center for the Arts.
Please prepare a Shakespeare monologue— comedic or dramatic— that does not exceed 2 minutes, and bring along a stapled head-shot and resume.
First Rehearsal: Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018
First Performance: Tuesday, February 6th
Last Performance (to date): Friday, April 27th
Rehearsals will run four nights during the week (6-10pm) and Saturday/Sunday (11-5pm)
A stipend will be offered, subject to adjustment based on performance bookings.
